Hi, I’m Emilia, and it is my mission to inspire young people everywhere to realize their dreams. I am the author of two five-star fantasy novels: Crown of Scales and Wonder & Thieves of Time Forgotten, which I published at ten and thirteen respectively. Thieves of Time Forgotten won a Silver Medal at the 2025 IPPY Awards and a Bronze Medal at the 2025 Moonbeam Awards. My third novel, the final installment of The Shadow Heir Trilogy is set for release in August of 2026.
I’m also a trained actress, singer, and playwright—passions I’ve been devoted to since I almost got kicked out of Kindergarten for singing in class!
In the summer of 2024, I founded a non-profit called Teatro con Corazón, or Theater with a Heart, in my family’s hometown of Palomino, Colombia. Through summer shows that I direct and organize myself, the foundation introduces underprivileged kids to the beauty of the arts in a place where they would’ve never had the opportunity.
Most recently, I composed, directed, produced, and adapted for the stage Heartless the Musical at Interlochen Center for the Arts, based on the novel by Marissa Meyer—original cast recording coming in 2026!
I believe the arts are a means of changing the world. I believe that each character typed onto my Docs brings me closer to comprehending the sunshine and scars of our humanity. I believe that my beat-up journal and glitchy computer are the most effective weapons I’ll ever carry.
